I had to spend $10,000 to fight my divorce because I had lost all rights to any of his retirement. I gave up my career so that he could have one. I was never able to build up a retirement and then you are tell every spouse that is married to a military member that they do not deserve to have anything for supporting this country. WHO takes care of the military members children while they are gone for years on end. Who keeps their life running smoothly...we know it surely is not the court that is allowing such a thing to happen. I go back to court in just a couple of months to finish off the final hearing and let me tell you that all of you are mad at your ex-spouses, but were you made at them when they were the ones taking care of you and the kids while you were serving. Timothy Glass was not asking for full custody as he already has joint-ustody. He was simply asking the state to stop charging him for child support for the year+ that he was going to have custody of the child. She is in fact re-deployed now and has her child and full child support. It did not seam fair for Timothy to have to pay Mercedes child support while he had primary care of the child, and perthe oucome the judge felt the same way.
